WHAT IS GOLIAZ HIIT?
Goliaz HIIT is a company created with the purpose of coaching and training athletes worldwide by offering an innovative methodology of training. Workouts are based on the HIIT principles and bodyweight calisthenics.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOLIAZ CHALLENGES AND OTHER SPORT APPS?
Goliaz offers it’s athletes a human coach. All duties are specific to each and every athlete. In Goliaz the coaching is not based on a computer random algorithm but on an individual and tailor made coaching program.
WHAT IS GOLIAZ MONTHLY CHALLENGES?
Goliaz Challenges are brought to you by GOLIAZ HIIT. In Goliaz Challenges you will be asked to perform a series of daily duties determined to push you slowly but constantly beyond your limits. Improvement happens every day. By the end of the month you will be measuring your improvement.

WHO CAN PRACTICE GOLIAZ?
Goliaz is High Intensity Interval Training. Not everybody is able to or should exercise at high intensities. If you are unsure if the training is suitable for you because of any personal health concerns then it is advisable that you consult your doctor before participating.
WHERE SHOULD I START?
- Join Facebook Group GOLIAZCHALLENGES if you did not do it already. Much of the action will happen there.
- Sign in for the challenge at goliaz.com. If you have already registered in goliaz.com then you are automatically signed for the next Challenge. Just use your email and password to log in when you need to report.
- Download the app MAELZ SPORT. You can find it free both in the APPSTORE and PLAYSTORE.
- Read the blog article BURPEES – I NEED AIR PLEASE so you know how train your breathing technique.
WILL ALL THE DUTIES REQUIRE THE MAELZ SPORT PACER?
No, Maelz Sport pacer will be only needed in some of the duties. Athletes will be informed daily.
HOW DO I USE THE MAELZ SPORT PACER?
This pacer will be required for Burpees, Situps and Squats.
For Burpees you should set the pacer with 6 BEEPS where the first beep is the alarm as you can see in the following picture. Everytime you hear the alarm (blue circle) you will execute one rep. Notice you can change the colors of the circles by clicking them. You have 3 options: blue (alarm), orange (beep) and brown (mute).
For Situps and Squats you should set the pacer with 2 beeps where the first beep is the alarm as you can see in the following picture. Every time you hear the alarm (blue circle) you will execute one rep…
Please notice that in these examples the user has set the pace to 68. You should set it to the given daily duties pace for each specific exercise.
DO I NEED A CARDIO MONITOR?
If you have one you will do a great use of it as you will understand better your BPMs fluctuations during HIIT training. In HIIT training you often leave your comfort zone – this means you will be working out in your Anaerobical and Red Light HR zones. IS IT COMPLICATED TO BE PART OF THIS CHALLENGE?
It may occur complicated at first for some but after a few days you will easily get the hang of participating in the challenge and reporting becomes very simple.
HOW DO I REPORT MY DUTIES?
You will use the username and password you chose while registering for the Goliaz Challenges at GOLIAZ.COM and log in at www.goliaz.com. You will select the day to report and insert all the data that you are required. Make sure you insert all data correctly. Your success depends also on the accuracy of the information you provide. Not all duties will need to be reported. You will be informed when you need to report.
WHAT IF I AM USING OTHER SPORTS APPS?
It is up to you how/if you log Goliaz in the other sports apps you use. Goliaz Workouts can be used by everyone, alongside or in place of other apps.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY DUTIES ARE FOR EACH DAY?
At 2 am CET the duties for that same day are posted in the goliazchallenges Facebook Group and in GOLIAZ.COM. This is the time accepted as more reasonable so all the athletes from the different time zones can program their workouts.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN B70, Si60, Sq65?
B stands for Burpees, Si for Situps and Sq for Squats. The number you see in front of each one is the pace you should set your Maelz Sport App with.
ARE THERE ANY DUTIES AT WEEKENDS?
No, weekends are rest days and can also be used to catch up on any missing days. Optionally, you may be asked to perform a bonus challenge.
IF I CANNOT TRAIN ONE DAY CAN I STILL CONTINUE IN THE CHALLENGE?
You should try to keep yourself up to date. If for any reason you cannot train you can use the weekend to compensate the missing day. But notice that it is up to you to be up to date or not. Goliaz Team will not be policing your trainings. Anyway, you need to understand that the results you will obtain are directly related to your commitment with the challenge.
IF I GET INJURED OR CANNOT CATCH UP THE DUTIES BEFORE NEXT MONDAY CAN I STILL CONTINUE IN THE CHALLENGE?
Yes, you can. Anyway for any issue you need support you can use the email firstname.lastname@example.org.
DO I NEED A PREVIOUS PREPARATION TO JOIN THESE KIND OF CHALLENGES?
No, these challenges are designed so all athletes from any athletic level can join. Each one will receive very specific duties depending on their form.
DO I NEED TO PERFORM ALL DUTIES STRAIGHT?
Between each set of reps of the same exercise you are informed exactly what should the rest period be. Between different exercises it is reasonable to rest between 4 to 10 minutes. It is up to you.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN UNBROKEN?
Unbroken means that you can complete all sets keeping the same speed as the pacer. When you can no longer follow the pacer you go BROKEN. In these cases you will inform in which rep you went BROKEN. Still, when you go BROKEN you should immediately reduce the pace in the pacer by 10 units and keep following its rhythm. Normally, the pace is doable and you need to focus on following it. Exceptionally, if you need to reduce the pace again then do it. It is better than pausing or stopping.
DO I NEED TO WARM UP?
Like in any other sport activity YES, you need to do a proper warm up. In each daily duty you will be informed about suggested warm up and cool down.
DO I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE FORM I PERFORM THE EXERCISES?
Yes, you always need to focus on form.
IN CASE I CANNOT PERFORM ANY SPECIFIC EXERCISE CAN I CHANGE IT FOR AN EASIER ONE?
If that happens due to any physical limitation or even due to the difficulty of finding a running track please inform by email and we will try to find a suitable solution.
I AM NOT FAMILIAR TO SOME GOLIAZ EXERCISES. WHERE CAN I FIND THE EXPLANATIONS ON HOW TO PERFORM THOSE EXERCISES?

MUST THE INFO I SUPPLY BE CORRECT?
GOLIAZ itself is a competition between who you were, who you are and who you want to be. In reality it all resumes to you. Never let ego overcome honesty. It doesn’t matter what the others think of you. You will know and that is what counts.
WILL IT BE HARD?
Yes, not impossible hard but still hard. Though we believe the fun compensates it. You will always be asked to do something that YOU CAN DO!
BY BEING PART OF THE GOLIAZ CHALLENGES, WILL IT BENEFIT ME AND MY HEALTH/FITNESS?
Yes, we expect you to improve above your expectations, especially if you are a novice in these kind of challenges. Though you will improve a lot in terms of your cardio and muscular endurance, your greatest achievement will be to prove yourself that you ALWAYS can GO BEYOND your limits.
